Maybe I have a bias....

It could be because I took these photos or it might be because I know all these guys really well and am related to one of them by blood and most are like brothers to me as well? Who knows but I always enjoy taking pictures when I'm up in Everett, WA at the softball games. The "Freakin Deacons" is the best team!...Ok maybe not the best...but they try hard and always have fun. They are comical, skilled, and very photogenic. They make my job easy. It is hard to top that kind of a shooting gig with anything else. Here are a few of pictures...the rest can be found on my website so go look! More to follow soon from other games. Salute!

Wedding Season...Being the photographer and a bridesmaid.

So it is her day, your goal as the photographer is to make her feel that way, to capture all those happy moments. Again it is her day, as a bridesmaid you are there to support your friend and be there for her on her spot light. So it should be easy to do both right? lol It was a memorable experience. You can say that it was more work and energy than I thought it was going to be. I loved being apart of their wedding and was honored I got to be the one to take their pictures that will be with them for the rest of their lives. The photos they will show their family and friends. Their children, their grand children. It is an honor, but man it takes a lot out of you.

Here is how my wedding weekend started out. I spent all day Friday looking over the site, doing test shoots, it was an eight hour day which turned into a 16 hour day by the time we got home, finished the logistics, the batteries charging, and the laundry. To start the day of the wedding at 6 am. The day went well. Photos of the bride and groom, party, and family was rushed. There is always more shots you can do. Everything went well for the rest of the day. By the time Bryce and I arrived and Red Robin down the street from my parent's house we were exhausted. We were both hungry and to tired to eat. It was a long slow process. When we did get home the job at hand was to back up all files, it was a stressful and long process. Our day ended at later that night after another 14 hours.

The days went on and on, after 120 hours of editing with a few photos left the few photos that I have selected to show the Bride and Groom are ready. After hours and thousands of photos the days has come to put it all in their gallery and show them. I think people don't understand why photographers and photography is so expensive. The time commitment that the photographer puts in to the work to make the memories. It is all about catering and taking care of the subjects.

The end result ends with happiness hopefully. I loved being apart of the wedding but would of loved to be the one taking the photos of the bride walking down the isle. For me that is where it is at. I want to support my friends and family but I want to support with a camera in my hand.

Friends tun into Models

So for my first post, I thought I would share some pictures of Ashley that I took while Bryce was doing his senior portrait shoot down in Amity, Or. It was just some fun pictures that turned out amazing and worth keeping. Between her laid back style and the beautiful sky and scenery it was a perfect day for pictures. I think these came out great. The emotions and the freedom of the country is what made these photos. As well as Ashley and being a great sport!

Feel free to leave thoughts and comments. Crits are great. I love them. As long as it is valid information and not just "i don't like it or i like it" then by all means tell me what you think, just have a justification please so I can learn and get better. Salute!
